David Warner remains stranded in Covid-ravaged India after being mysteriously dropped as captain of his Indian Premier League team on Saturday.

And on Wednesday, Jess Eva revealed on Triple M’s Moonman in the Morning show that David’s wife, Candice, is ‘very concerned’ about the Australian cricketer.

‘I’ve struck up a bit of a friendship with Candice Warner online so we’ve been private messaging each other for three or four months now,’ Jess said.

‘A couple of weeks ago she said she was not that concerned because she had faith in the bubble but I see today that she has got her kids writing letters to their father so I can see that anxiety has gone up in the last few weeks.’

It comes after David shared a heartbreaking message from his three young girls begging their dad to come home from India.

He uploaded a poignant drawing of his young family with a handwritten note from his eldest daughter, Ivy Mae, to Instagram.

‘Please daddy come home straight away. We miss you a lot and love you. Love from Ivy, Indi and Isla,’ the six-year-old wrote.

The note also included a drawing of the family surrounded by red love hearts.

‘My gorgeous Ivy. So much love ‘ Warner captioned the note.

The Test batsman is among a number of Australian cricketers who face an uncertain future stranded in India as the Indian Premier League is suspended and multiple players test positive to Covid-19.

Another 9,000 Aussies are also trapped in the virus-ravaged nation, which has seen 20 million cases of coronavirus and hospitals at breaking point.

On Tuesday, the IPL announced the immediate indefinite suspension of the big-money tournament featuring many of the world’s best players, acknowledging that if the seven-week competition were to continue it may put ‘lives at stake’.

Warner and his Sunrisers Hyderabad teammates have been plunged into lockdown after one of their players, Wriddhiman Saha, returned a positive COVID-19 test on Tuesday.
