Car enthusiast puts moss-covered ’61 Chevrolet Corvette on Craigslist (minus an engine)

A man is selling a classic 1961 Chevrolet Corvette he found sitting in a yard outside an old house in New Jersey.

The ‘green’ machine, something of a hidden gem, was found with some parts intact and covered in moss. It was minus an engine, however.

The seller picked up the vehicle after being tipped off by an estate agent, he said.

It was found among a group of six cars sitting outside of a rundown house that was full of car parts, Fox News reported.

The late owner is believed to have built engines for stock and drag race cars.

The seller said the chassis is in pretty good shape, despite being exposed to the elements for an estimated 40 years.

On Craigslist, the description says the ‘body is in good condition’, suspension raised on blocks with vintage slot mags sitting on Micky Thompson tires.

The car was originally white with a red interior.

Fox said a mint condition version of the same model would go for around $150,000.

The seller, who called it the ‘find of a lifetime’, is now hopeful someone else can bring it back to life.
