Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s put out Christmas albums

Fast food is hardly a holiday staple, but Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s came up with a surprising way to link burgers and fries with jingle bells this season.

Getting in the Christmas spirit, the two chains have released holiday albums this year, each with a line-up of traditional Christmas tracks that have been remixed with a twist.

The free albums are available to download and stream now, just in time to play in the background when the family comes over for Christmas dinner.

Something different! Hardee's put out the same album which has five tracks of remixed holiday songs made using sounds found in the kitchen, like burgers sizzling

Burgers and tunes: Carl’s Jr. released a holiday album this year called Carl’s Carols, while Hardee’s put out the same album which has five tracks of remixed holiday songs

Remixed: The songs were made using sounds found in the kitchen, like burgers sizzling and include Up On the Charbroiler, Chicken Tenderland, and Deck The Halls From Scratch

Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s, which are owned by the same parent company, each have their own version of the album: Carl’s Carols and Hardee’s Holiday.

They both have the same five tracks as well, totaling five minutes and 19 seconds of music each. Each song ranges from 33 seconds to about a minute and a half.

The songs are all based on five holiday classics: Winter Wonderland, Up on the House Top, Jingle Bells, Deck the Halls, and Twelve Days of Christmas.

Each, though, is performed entirely with tools found in the kitchen — meaning they feature the sounds of salt shakers, burgers sizzling on the grill, and metal spoons clanking.

Yum: The two chains are also offering 'Yule log' videos this year, which are actually clips of burgers cooking

They have new names, too: Chicken Tenderland (Live from Our Kitchen 2017), Up On the Charbroiler (Feat. 100% Black Angus Beef), Biscuit Bells (The Oven Edit), Deck The Halls From Scratch (The Charbroiled Remix), and Twelve Days Of $5 All-Star Meals (Hand-Breaded Version).

The gimmicky yet admittedly amusing stunt is just one of two forms of entertainment the chains have released this year in order to be a part of customers’ Christmas celebrations.

There is also the ‘Charbroiled Yule Log Fireplace’ — a four-hour YouTube video inspired by clips of Yule logs burning, which many families now play in the background during their holiday celebrations in place of burning an actual Yule log.

The Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s version, however, isn’t a lot at all, but a hamburger. And it’s not in a fireplace — it’s sizzling on a grill.
