A mum-of-two has revealed the three things you should always clean using baking soda – including mattresses, kitchen drain and chopping boards.
Carolina Mccauley, from Perth, shared a now-viral TikTok video showing how she uses the cheap wonder ingredient to keep her home spotless after ditching household cleaning products.
One of her cleaning tips involves combining bicarbonate of soda with essential oil and sprinkling the mixture over a mattress to clean and deodorise.

First start by stripping the bed by removing the sheets.
Add 20 drops of lavender essential oil to the baking soda, then use a sifter to sieve the powder all over the mattress before vacuuming the surface clean.
In her next cleaning tip, she shared a simple method for deep cleaning kitchen drains using baking soda, vinegar and hot boiling water to flush out the pipes, leaving her drain smelling fresh.
Simply pour half a cup of baking soda, followed by two cups of vinegar, which will create a bubbling effect due to an instant reaction with the baking soda.
Cover the drain with a cloth for 10 minutes. To flush out the drains, just pour boiling hot water.
