High-octane vehicles from Aussie blockbuster Mad Max Fury Road – including the War Rig, Doof Wagon and classic Interceptor car – to be sold in online virtual auction

The high-octane vehicles from Mad Max Fury Road are being put up in a virtual auction and could be yours to own. 

The iconic movie vehicles from the 2015 hit Australian blockbuster will be available for bidding in a series of auctions held by Lloyds on the 25th and 26th of September.  

The collection includes the War Rig that was driven by Tom Hardy’s Max Rockatansky and Charlize Theron’s Imperator Furiosa, the Doof Wagon and Max’s classic Interceptor.

‘Available for expressions of Madness is a Museum of Modern Masterpieces, these vehicles are survivors of the apocalypse that was the filming of FURY ROAD,’ the auction advertisement reads.

‘Blown, super-turbo charged and armed to the teeth with weaponry and War Boys, the machines that outran the end of civilisation have been unearthed in the greatest barn-find ever recorded.’  

The collection includes a total of 13 cars and trucks from the post-apocalyptic action film, most of which were operated by Immortan Joe’s War Boys in the movie.

The vehicles will be available Australia-wide for purchase and inspection times for the cars can be made via appointment. 

No base prices have been set.

Other vehicles in the collection include the Gigahorse, Nux’s car, Convoy car: Elvis, Convoy car: Flamer, Pole Car, Sabre Tooth, Fire car, Caltrop: El Dorado, Buggy: Ratrod Chev and Buick: Heavy Artillery with Weapon Mount.

It garnered critical acclaim and won six Academy Awards when it released in 2015.

Tom Hardy played the role of Max in the latest film after Mel Gibson famously portrayed the cop-turned-road warrior in the original trilogy. 

An Imperator Furiosa prequel film is currently in the works with director George Miller back at the helm.
