The Bureau of Meteorology issued a severe thunderstorm warning for parts of Queensland on Saturday night as thousands of homes are already without power.
Residents have been urged to be vigilant as damaging winds and large hailstones are expected to batter the region overnight.

‘Right now we have very dangerous, in fact life threatening storms around parts of Brisbane
‘There is significant flash flooding risk and risk to life with that storm at the moment, so people in that affected area need to take significant caution right now.’
About 22,000 homes were without power as the severe storm already pummeled the area on Saturday.
About 76mm of rain fell near Augathellain just an hour, triggering fears of flash flooding.
BOM issued a ‘very dangerous’ thunderstorm warning for Caboolture as 60 millimetres fell in nearby Delaney’s Creek.
The areas likely to take the brunt of the storms were: Central Highlands and Coalfields, Central West, Maranoa, Warrego, Darling Downs and Granite Belt Forecast Districts, according to BOM.
