So what should you be doing?

What are the five steps to glowing skin?

* Wear sunscreen every single day

* Drink plenty of water

* Eat a colorful, anti-inflammatory diet filled with fish, greens, seeds and nuts

* Get regular sleep, at least seven hours, and avoid stress

* Keep your skincare regime simple

‘[The most important thing] is you wear sunscreen each and every day over the top of an antioxidant serum to protect your skin from harmful UV rays and free radicals,’ Melanie told the publication.

On top of this, plenty of water and a ‘colorful, anti-inflammatory diet’ is key.

Speaking about the foods you should increase in your diet for great skin, Melanie said ‘plenty of fish, greens, seeds and nuts’ are the answer to a dewy complexion.

‘Get regular sleep, at least seven hours, and avoid stress,’ she added.

The esthetician said when it comes to your skincare routine, less really is more.

‘Incorporate a simple, purposeful skincare regime to maintain your skin,’ she said.

Melanie favours a vitamin C serum during the day and a retinol serum at night, as well as a great moisturiser and gentle exfoliant.

‘Too many steps or products will over-complicate it, resulting in a lack of consistency and sensitised or reactive skin,’ she said.

What are the products Melanie loves?

* Augustinus Bader The Cream

* Biologique Recherche Le Grande Creme

* Chanel Le Lift

* Vintners Daughter

* Augustinus Bader – The Rich Cream

Regarding the products the Sydney-based facialist swears by, Melanie said you can’t go wrong with the Augustinus Bader range.

While pricey, she said both ‘the cream’ and ‘the rich cream’ work in delivering intense hydration.

They both also work to prevent the signs of ageing.

Elsewhere, Melanie uses Chanel’s Le Lift for its great texture, the Biologique Recherche Le Grande Creme and Vintners Daughter to keep her own skin looking its plump best.

Speaking previously to FEMAIL, Melanie (pictured) said she has noticed a real shift in recent years away from Botox (which she hates), towards a more natural healthy skin look

Earlier this year, Victoria Beckham had a facial at Melanie Grant’s studio in Sydney when she was in Australia – and quickly dubbed it ‘the most amazing facial’.

And Victoria isn’t the only high-profile client on Melanie’s list. She has also treated Jessica Gomes, Nicole Trunfio and of course Kim Kardashian.

Speaking previously to FEMAIL, Melanie said she has noticed a real shift in recent years away from Botox (which she hates), towards a more natural healthy skin look.

‘People want to look real and glowing,’ she said.

SPF is also her hero product:

‘While I see that treatments such as fraxel laser, IPL, light therapy and peels are very effective at repairing the most damaged complexions, a good quality broad spectrum suncream worn every day allows the skin to start repairing itself,’ she told Daily Mail Australia.
