Say what? Comedian Celeste Barber calls 7.30 host Leigh Sales ‘Lisa’ during interview to promote upcoming tour

Celeste Barber appeared to accidentally refer to veteran TV reporter Leigh Sales as ‘Lisa’ during an interview with 7.30 on Wednesday.

The 39-year-old comedian was a guest on the ABC news show to promote her upcoming live tour, Fine, Thanks., and made the mistake while signing off.

‘Thanks so much, Lisa. Nice to see you,’ Celeste told Leigh, 48, as she said goodbye.

It didn’t go unnoticed by the show’s viewers either, with one fan pointing out the on-air gaffe on Twitter.

‘Celeste Barber just called Leigh Sales “Lisa”? Yes? Joke?’ they wrote.

But it appeared to have been nothing more than a slip of the tongue, with Celeste actually saying ‘Thanks so much, Leigh. So nice to see you’.

Celeste announced her upcoming tour on Instagram on Wednesday, writing: ‘Holy crap! Australia & New Zealand, I’m going back on tour May & June 2022 baby!’

The funnywoman has developed a cult following by hilariously recreating celebrities’ outrageous photos and videos on her own Instagram page.

Speaking about what initially inspired her, Celeste told Leigh she was fed up with seeing heavily edited photos ‘passed off as normal’.

‘I got sick of seeing so many heavily curated, heavily filtered and altered images passed off as everyday. I mean, the main purpose why I did it was just to make people laugh…’ she explained.

‘I remember when I was looking at these images thinking, “This isn’t good. This isn’t okay that it’s being passed off as normal. That’s not what people look like!”

‘And I think it’s really, really important for us to see ourselves, because when you don’t, you think you don’t matter.’
