Tearful Celine Dion reveals she’s ‘still experiencing spasms’ and can’t perform European tour dates: ‘It’s taking a lot longer for me to recover than I had hoped’
Celine Dion announced that she would be postponing her European tour yet again in a tearful Instagram video on Friday morning.
The Grammy Award winner, 54, revealed that she is ‘still experiencing some spasms’ and that she wants to be in ‘top shape’ when she’s on stage.
The Canadian superstar’s tour, Courage, kicked off in September 2019, but in January 2022 she had cancelled the remaining North American dates citing ‘severe and persistent muscle spasms which are preventing her from performing.’
Rescheduled: Celine Dion announced that she would be postponing her European tour yet again due to muscle ‘spasms’ in a tearful Instagram video on Friday morning
‘Well, here we are again, and I’m so sorry that we have to change our tour plans for Europe one more time,’ she said at the start of the video.
‘First we had to move the shows because of the pandemic, now it’s my health issues causing us to postpone some shows. And, unfortunately, we have to cancel some too.’
The Canadian superstar proceeded to give her fans a quick health update, saying that despite feeling better, her progress was taking longer than anticipated.
‘The good news is that I am doing a little bit better…but it’s going very slow. And it’s very frustrating for me. You know I’m getting treatment from my doctors, taking medication, but I’m still experiencing some spasms, and it’s taking a lot longer for me to recover than I had hoped.’

‘I need to be in top shape when I’m on stage. I honestly can’t wait, but I’m just not there yet. Just telling you how I feel,’ she said as her voice cracked.
‘And I wanted you to know, that I’m sorry for this news. I know you’ve all waited so long for the concerts, and I appreciate your loyalty.’
‘By now I am convinced that you should be so fed up with all of this. And waiting for so long. But all I can say is that I’m doing my very best to get back to the level that I need to be, so that I can give a 100% at my shows, because that’s what you deserve,’ she went on.
Long process: ‘I’m getting treatment from my doctors, taking medication, but I’m still experiencing some spasms, and it’s taking a lot longer for me to recover than I had hoped,’ she revealed
‘And thank you so much for the messages of love and support that you always send to my social media. It means a lot to me.’
The blonde beauty ended her video with a message of support for the people of Ukraine.
‘I also want to say that, like all of you, I stand with the people of Ukraine, and I hope and pray that this war ends soon. Sending you all my love and prayers for peace. Hope to see you soon. Until then, you take care, okay? I love you so much.’
Dion’s tour was set to begin in May 2022, but the shows have now been pushed back to February 2023.
The star has also delayed her Las Vegas residency due to the spasms.
