Should Celtic move into the next round of qualifying, the matches will take place on August 7/8, with the first leg provisionally set for Glasgow, and the second leg to be played on August 14.

Elsewhere in Monday’s draw, Salzburg entered the ‘Champions path’ and were paired with the winners of the second qualifying round tie between Macedonian side Shkendija and Sheriff Tiraspol of Moldova.

The ‘League path’ saw six new teams coming into the competition. Benfica were drawn against Fenerbahce, while Standard Liege face the winners of Ajax and Sturm Graz, Dymano Kiev will tackle Slavia Prague and Spartak Moscow meet either PAOK or Basel.

Another victory for Brendan Rodgers’ side would tee up a meeting with AEK Athens of Greece
