Liverpool have been handed the toughest test of the English clubs as they have drawn Real Madrid – who are by far the most successful club in European Cup history.

Real Madrid are synonymous with the Champions League thanks to their success in the tournament. Including the 2021-2022 main event in Paris, Los Blancos have reached 17 finals and have won 13 of those.

Liverpool’s clash with Real Madrid will be a repeat of last year’s final. Jurgen Klopp’s side will be looking to avenge their defeat in Paris last May.

Liverpool fans are disappointed by the draw as the Reds have struggled for consistency in the league this season. However, Liverpool will look to rectify their form ahead of their last-16 clash with the LaLiga giants.

Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City side will face RB Leipzig in the last-16. They will be eager to beat the German as they continue their pursuit of Champions League glory for the first time.

As one of the seeded teams, City will play away from home at the Red Bull Arena in the first leg, before welcoming the German outfit to the Etihad Stadium for the second leg.

Antonio Conte will be delighted with the draw considering he has more matches in all competitions against Milan than he has versus any other side in his managerial career.

Paris Saint-Germain will take on Bayern Munich in a highly anticipated last-16 clash, while Inter Milan will need to be at their to guarantee a win over defeat Porto.

Now that the draw has been complete, UEFA will work on cementing the final schedule before releasing the dates assigned to each matchup.

However, all Round of 16 matches will be played at 21:00 CET / 20:00 BST / 15:00 ET. The group winners will also play the second leg of their matchup at home.
