Chance the Rapper tears up opening Grammys with daughter

Last February at the Grammy Awards Chance the Rapper made music history as the first musician to take home a gong, without selling a single track.

The Chicago rapper, 24, whose real name is Chancellor Bennett, has been unrelenting on his policy to release free music, and his infectious hip hop sound saw him awarded the titles for best new artist, best rap album and best rap performance at the 59th Annual Grammy Awards.

But despite winning the awards back in February, the rapper has only just received them at home, newly-engraved and ready to be placed on his mantel. And the process of unveiling the prizes appeared to have quite the emotional impact on the street-wise rapper, who actually broke down while opening them with his two-year-old daughter.

Crowning moment! Chance the Rapper finally received the three Grammys he won last February and unwrapped them with his adorable daughter Kensli, two

Chance uploaded several videos of himself unwrapping his long awaited awards on the floor while family members filmed.

‘I got my Grammys in the mail. Thank you everyone who made this music with me, especially this girl right here. #ColoringBook #BestRapAlbum #butitwasamixtape #IDidItWithGod #ChanceTebow,’ he captioned his first video.

He begins by opening the cardboard package to reveal the golden gramophone trophy tucked inside, while his family in the background gasp in anticipation. His daughter Kensli senses his excitement then piles onto his back for a warm bear hug.

‘Chance the Rapper best new artist 2016,’ he reads from the first trophy award’s plaque.

When it comes time to unwrap the second box he tests Kensli on her numbers.

‘Which number is this?’ he asks.

‘Two!’ she promptly replies, to the reassuring coos of her family.

Third time's the charm! The rapper swept three awards including best new artist, best rap ablum and best rap performance and the little one awarded each trophy with a warm hug

Proud of you! Kensli loved to hang around her doting dad and shower him with hugs upon seeing his impressive awards

She helps him open the flaps of the second box to reveal the following golden trophy then dives into his embrace, celebrating his trophy for best rap performance 2016 for No Problem with Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz.

She’s then points to the final box, antsy to see the last award.

The doting dad obliges, after making her practice counting the number of awards once more, and takes out the trophy to the cheers of his friends and family.

‘Kensli look at daddy’s award,’ a family member says as the tot stumbles over to her father.

‘It’s kind of heavy, do you want to hold it?’ Chance asks his toddler.

She bravely takes it with both hands and brings the hefty trophy to a box with the others, and her family cheers at her strength, and she quickly returns to her fathers arms. But this time Chance is overcome with emotion seeing his little one hold the Grammy’s she helped inspire, and he holds on shedding a couple tears.

The little one looks up to find her dad crying and tries to wipe a tear when the sweet clip ends.

‘Chance teaching his daughter how to count with his Grammys is incredible,’ one user shared.

‘Fan or not this is beautiful,’ another user named Mikey added.

‘Getting a Grammy in the mail probably the only feeling better than seeing your Amazon Prime package,’ one Twitter user reflected.

‘This is the only unboxing video I will ever watch,’ another fan gushed.

Others posted a myriad of crying gifs to capture their reactions to Chance’s tearful hug with Kensli.

The artist at first was very timid when it came to sharing his daughter on his social media platforms, but as she’s grown the lovestruck father can’t help but share his most special moments, including Grammy unboxing, with her and his fans.
