Channel 4 is reportedly working on a new reality dating show for 2023, currently casting singletons from across the UK.

The broadcaster is said to be hoping to take on the likes of ITV’s popular Love Island with the new release.

In a format similar to the yearly-run series, a group of successful applicants will move in together and go on a series of dates, according to The Sun.

The title is thought to be Finding the Ones, with filming to kick off next month for a late summer airing date.

Set to broadcast on E4, the show would join widely-successful dating shows such as Married At First Sight.

MailOnline has contacted Channel 4 for comment on the new release.

Love Island currently airs twice a year on ITV2, with Channel 4 following their lead as the broadcaster amps up the ante.

In addition to Love Island, ITV are preparing to air a middle-aged version of the show – dubbed The Romance Retreat.

Davina McCall has been confirmed to take on hosting duties of the new show, with the host admitting previously she pleaded with ITV broadcasters to let her front the show, which is expected to air later this year.

In a video posted on her Instagram page, she said: ‘I made it happen. I willed there to be an amazing new dating programme for grown-ups.

‘People who have lived a life, been through experiences, bad, moving, hard, tough lives. They’ve got luggage but they deserve love.

‘And it’s happening. It’s coming to ITV1 soon and we want to know if you want to be on it.’

A channel spokesperson said: ‘ITV1 are looking for vibrant single parents from across the UK who are in search of love, for a brand new dating show!
