Channel Nine denies Hamish Blake ‘had input’ into where Lego Masters is produced – as the hit series to relocates from Melbourne to Sydney

Channel Nine has firmly denied that host Hamish Blake played a part in Lego Masters’ production relocation from Melbourne to Sydney.

A Nine spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia on Saturday: ‘Hamish has no input into where the show is made. He loves doing it and will travel to wherever it is if that’s what it takes.’

This comes after The Daily Telegraph reported the comedian had talks with the network and production company Endemol Shine Australia to move the hit show to to Sydney, where he is now based with his wife Zoë Foster Blake and their children.

Industry sources told the publication he was ‘unwilling to commit to a 12-week Melbourne lockdown – or repeated mandatory quarantines’ in order to film a fourth season, particularly with Australia’s ever-changing Covid-19 situation and border closures.

While some crew members have been offered jobs in Sydney, the relocation of the show has resulted in 80 job losses for the Melbourne production staff, The Daily Telegraph reported.

A Nine spokesperson confirmed news of the production’s relocation to Sydney with the publication and added: ‘Every show has to be nimble to navigate the health and safety impacts.’

Filming for the upcoming 2022 season is scheduled run from October to December.

Hamish and Zoë, share children six-year-old Sonny, and three-year old Rudy, moved with their children from Melbourne to Sydney earlier this year where her Go-To Skincare company is based.

Before the big move, Hamish had announced on social media: ‘For a long time I have known that stealing my wife from Sydney would mean one day we’d venture there to live for a while.

‘Since her business is going so strong (‘booming’ I believe is the business term), her family is there, and I am keen to get a role on Bondi Rescue (as a tourist who faints from eating too many ice creams) it seemed like the time to make the move!

‘The loose plan is for a few years, but however long it’s for, we’re excited for this adventure with our little family. I guess we really took the ”see Australia” message seriously,’ he added.
