Nine instead chose to focus their coverage on the pre-match build up, angering some fans of the Australian Idol winner.
Sebastian performed his new single ‘Before I Go’ to the crowd who turned out to watch the men’s final at Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne.

The channel had previously promoted the Australian singer’s performance in an interview leading up to the finals.
However on the day they found their schedule was too packed to air Sebastian’s full performance.
Disappointed viewers took to Twitter to express their disappointment after missing half of the performance.
‘Great performance Guy. Pity Channel 9 chose to only show about 30 seconds of it. Very disappointed. Been waiting for this,’ one person tweeted.
