Charley Webb is forced to shut down her children’s toy business

Charley Webb has revealed she’s been forced to shut down her ‘dream’ business, after struggling to find time to focus on running it.

The Emmerdale star set up the Scandi-inspired Nordi Babi in 2020 with her husband and co-star Matthew Wolfenden, which sells wooden children’s toys.

Matthew and Charley were also working with his brother David on the business.

Taking to Instagram, Charley wrote: ‘@nordi_babi is closing. I’ve loved this chapter and the journey it’s taken us on but we just don’t have the time to run it the way we want to.’

‘I love everything Scandi so this has been a dream.’

Nordi Babi has teething, stacking and pull-along toys which are all wooden and the brand is now having a 40 per cent off closing sale.

The idea for the concept occurred after Charley struggled in 2010 to find toys that her first baby son Barker liked.

It comes after the star voiced her annoyance after she crashed her car into a post in December.

The star took to her Instagram to share a picture of the damage to her Audi after knocking her bumper off.

She wrote: ‘Good morning to ME. Just bashed my car into a post and this is the result.’

The actress said she was ‘p******’ off by the accident, saying: ‘Today is not my day’.

Addressing her followers in a video, Charley said: ‘Really annoying. I was driving into a space, I wasn’t even driving fast.

‘If I’d have been driving more than like 2 miles per hour, I probably would have taken the whole bonnet off. Can’t believe the damage that it’s done.’

She expressed her relief that no one was injured, saying: ‘Anyway no one was hurt. So that’s the main thing, but it’s just really p***** me off.

‘And then loads of stuff’s gone wrong today, so it’s just been really good. I need to go to bed and just get back up tomorrow because today is not my day.’

She added: ‘I wouldn’t mind but I went to bed last night and did this really nice abundance, affirmation and manifesting meditation. That did not work, did it?’

She said: ‘I had been stationary for quite a while so she obviously wasn’t concentrating or watching where she going because she came right into the back of me…

‘It wasn’t actually that big of an impact, I didn’t jerk forward or anything, but my lower back – I’m in agony.’

She went on to explain that she did not feel the pain initially, putting it down to the adrenaline after the crash, however she went on: ‘I don’t understand quite why its as bad as it is but oh my word it is so painful’.

The mother-of-three noted that it was lucky her youngest son Ace, 21 months at the time, was not in the car at the time.

She went on: ‘Luckily I didn’t have Ace in the car, because that would have been a different story. The car obviously was hit quite hard but I’ve got quite a big car so it doesn’t show huge marks, but her bumper was definitely damaged.’
