Charlie Chaplin’s granddaughter Laura TROTS down the aisle on her HORSE

Charlie Chaplin’s granddaughter Laura rides down the aisle on her HORSE at her second wedding to lawyer Etienne Monnier in Spain

Charlie Chaplin’s granddaughter Laura has made it clear she is as much of a showperson as her iconic grandfather.

Earlier this month, the artist, 36, was escorted down the aisle not by her father, Chaplin’s son Eugene, but by her horse, when she married lawyer Etienne Monnier in Spain, having previously exchanged vows in Switzerland.

Her sister, Kiera, 40, a model and producer, shared a slew of incredible videos of the day in a montage – including an image of Laura arriving on the horse – while also revealing their brother Spencer had performed the music for the day.

In the caption, she wrote: ‘My sister @laura_chaplinart got married this weekend to the best brother in law you could ask for @etiennemonnier…

‘In true Laura fashion she had all her friends, family who flew in from around the world and who we had not seen for way to long, and of course all of her pets: 3 dogs and two horses. After riding down the isle we had a great dinner…

‘Followed by music by @spencerchaplin1 of course, first dance with dad and impromptu song by mom. At the end, the final survivors of the party where all thrown in the pool. Cheers again to you both!!! Love you’

Back in May during her Swiss wedding, Laura wore eye-catching purple suede boots.

Laura never met her grandfather, who died ten years before she was born, but says she has always felt a close connection with him.

‘I’ve inherited his artistic and creative genes, and his perfectionism,’ she explained. ‘He also gave me the importance of laughter. I’ve seen how it affects people and like him, feel the need to make people smile.’

Laura has long-honoured her grandfather through her work by painting pictures of the movie legend – which fetch up to £10k a time.

She told Hello! in 2018: ‘I’ve been drawing my grandfather ever since I can remember. We used to have a lot of visitors when I was a little girl and they would buy my sketches for a few francs…

‘Now it’s my passion, my vocation, and I paint every day. I would love to show my portraits in the UK…
