Charlize Theron talks playing Megyn Kelly in new bio-drama amid NBC fallout

Megyn Kelly’s NBC morning show was cancelled last week after the host made a series of insensitive comments about blackface.

And on Friday, Charlize Theron, who is playing Kelly in upcoming bio-drama Fair and Balanced, about late Fox News chief executive Roger Ailes, addressed the scandal.

Theron told Extra: ‘Listen, people are complicated. Honestly, I think the story broke on day two of shooting, which, at the beginning of production, everything is so insanely crazy. Obviously, we all saw it was happening. It’s not what the movie is about.

‘I don’t have the time right now… being an on-set producer and acting in this film and having two kids to really have any kind of perspective on it.’

Megyn has had a tumultuous career, and it’s unclear if she will bounce back from her recent fallout with NBC.

Just days ago, the TV personality questioned why people find blackface costumes so outlandish on her morning show.

‘There was controversy on The Real Housewives Of New York with Luann and she dressed as Diana Ross.

‘She made her skin look darker than it really is and people said that was racist,’ she said.

‘Who doesn’t love Diana Ross? If she wants to look like Diana Ross for one day, I don’t know how that became racist on Halloween.’
