The eight-hour flight will cost $99 one way from Melbourne Airport to the Asian capital, according to Escape.

For those who want to travel in luxury, the airline offers a ‘value pack’ option, which includes 20 kilograms of luggage and meals during the journey for an extra $60.

As of December 5, AirAsia will be the first to fly internationally from Avalon Airport, about 50 minutes south of Melbourne Airport.

Avalon Airport CEO Justin Giddings said the ‘unique low-cost’ flights were a great opportunity for eager jetsetters.

The flights are expected to leave from the airport twice daily, mid-morning and at night.

The A330-300 planes will include premium flatbeds and 354 economy seats.
