Cheap flights to Europe up for grabs in Black Friday sales

An Australian tour company is offering thousands of dollars in savings on flights to Europe as part of Black Friday sales – but those keen on a cheap trip need to get in quick.

Bargains are being offered up as part of the sales tradition picked up from the United States’ post-Thanksgiving tradition – and are expected to be bigger than Boxing Day.

Australian travel company Intrepid Travel is offering savings of up to 30 per cent on trips to Europe according to Escape, with those eager to head overseas could save up to $2800.

Intrepid Travel Asia Pacific regional director Brett Mitchell said the sales will be bigger than those on Boxing Day.

‘While the Cyber Sale has traditionally been an American concept, we’ve noticed that it has been picking up momentum in Australia, like Christmas in July and Halloween.

‘We’ve also noticed a shift in booking patterns and demand for deals at this time of year so it makes a lot of sense to bring our biggest sale of the year forward a month and give our travellers an early Christmas present,’ he said.

Air Asia X is offering flights to Jaipur, India via Kuala Lumpur for $241, while Expedia is set to offer deals of up to 50 per cent off hotels as part of their Black Friday sale.

Intrepid is offering 30 per cent discounts on 800 of their tours for 2018. A 24-day Japan tour is selling for $8487, while a 64-day Africa Encompassed Northbound tour has been reduced to $8260.

Keen cruisers will be able to take up ‘the cheapest P&O cruise prices Australia has ever seen’, including a $299 two-night cruise for two people.
