A young woman on her honeymoon has lost her expensive designer sunglasses after she tried to take a selfie with a monkey and the animal stole them.
Thomas McErlean got his camera out for what he thought would be a standard holiday photo of his wife and the cheeky monkey in Bali this month.
However, they came away with a unique holiday memory after the animal took a liking to the Ray-Ban shades and snatched them.

‘My wife and I were on our honeymoon in Bali this week, We took a day trip to the sacred monkey forest to see some wild monkeys up close. One of them jumped onto my wife and stole her expensive Ray-Ban sunglasses.’ Mr McErlean wrote.
‘It then proceeded to destroy them and attack us while we frantically tried to get them back.’
‘She got chased away by a smaller monkey while the larger one bashed the glasses on the floor.
‘I was laughing throughout the whole ordeal. We eventually got the glasses back after about 15 minutes, but they were totally destroyed and so went straight into the nearest bin.’

In the hilarious video the monkey can be seen perched on Ms McErlean’s arm but is distracted by the glasses.
The primate then grabs the sunglasses as Ms McErlean walks away laughing.
The animal proceeds to bash the Ray-Bans on the stone pathway scratching the lenses beyond repair.
While Ms McErlean will now have to for out new sunglasses she will have a story to tell for years to come.
