Chelsea defender Bashir Humphreys is poised to sign a new contract before joining Stoke City on a loan deal.
The 20-year-old is yet to make a Premier League appearance for Chelsea, however, he did make his first start of the campaign for the Blues in Wednesday night’s Carabao Cup win over League Two Wimbledon.
He spent the second half of last season on loan at German second division outfit Paderborn, where he played 13 times for the club.
The defender was part of the England Under-19 squad that won the European Championships in 2022 and also starred in this summer’s FIFA U-20 World Cup.
Stoke, who thrashed Rotherham 6-1, in their Carabao Cup win in mid-week are keen to bolster their defensive options with Swansea hoping to snap up Josh Tymon before the end of the deadline.
