Chelsea fans fume at Christian Pulisic after Instagram post with USA teammates – and Leeds rivals

‘Are you serious? We lost 3-0’: Chelsea fans fume at Christian Pulisic and his ‘really poor timing’ after he posted an Instagram snap with USA teammates – and Leeds rivals – in the wake of heavy defeat… but USMNT supporters back him

  • Pulisic snapped a pic with fellow Americans Brenden Aaronson and Tyler Adams
  • Chelsea suffered a 3-0 loss to Leeds – and Pulisic’s USMNT teammates – Sunday
  • The Chelsea winger came onto the pitch five minutes before the third goal
  • The comments were split between angry Blues and supportive USMNT fans

Footballers posting pictures with their friends isn’t uncommon, but they usually don’t do so if their friends play for an opposing team that battered them the past weekend.

Following a 3-0 loss to Leeds United, Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic posted an image with USMNT teammates Brenden Aaronson and Tyler Adams on Instagram.

Aaronson and Adams recently moved to Leeds from Red Bull clubs Salzburg and Leipzig respectively.

Pulisic has been rumored with a move away from Stamford Bridge, with Newcastle United and Manchester United linked as possible new homes.

Despite the humiliating defeat, Pulisic appeared not to hold a grudge against his US teammates as he posted the snap of him on the field with Aaronson and Adams, alongside the simple caption: ‘us’

Aaronson replied in the comments, writing, ‘My guy’ and a heart emoji, while Inter Miami and USMNT right back DeAndre Yedlin posted, ‘The boyssss’ and a fire emoji.

However, Chelsea fans were livid in the comments under the social media post, with many baffled at the timing being so close to the loss.

One supporter questioned if Pulisic knew which team he was playing for as they wrote: ‘Get a grip, you got battered that game. Did you forget you play for Chelsea?’

Another slammed him as ‘ungrateful’ claiming he needed to pay more respect to Chelsea and the fanbase.

One added: ‘Literally lost 3-0 to this team and this is what you decide to post,’ alongside a face palm emoji.

However, US supporters came to ‘Captain America’s’ defense as one insisted they would always support him.

Another urged him to leave Chelsea as the club wasn’t giving him the respect they believe he deserves.

Pulisic entered the match in the 64th minute replacing Conor Gallagher, just five minutes before Leeds’ Jack Harrison scored to make the game 3-0.

Aaronson scored his first goal in the Premier League to open up the scoring in the 33rd minute, capitalizing on an Edouard Mendy mistake and practically walking the ball into the net.

The win moves Leeds United – led by American manager Jesse Marsch – to third in the Premier League table with seven points in three matches.

Pulisic is seemingly out of the starting picture at Chelsea, with the winger only logging a total of 56 minutes across the first three matches of the season.

Chelsea’s next match is this Saturday against Leicester City.
