Chelsea ‘hold an interest in Bayern Munich defender Benjamin Pavard… but face competition from Juventus and Atletico Madrid’ to sign the France World Cup winner
- Benjamin Pavard could be heading out of Bayern Munich this summer
- Chelsea reportedly hold an interest alongside Juventus and Atletico Madrid
- Pavard has won three Bundesliga titles and the Champions League with Bayern
Chelsea are reportedly one of a number of European heavyweights interested in signing Benjamin Pavard from Bayern Munich in the summer transfer window.
According to Sky Sports Germany – and reported by Get French Football News – Pavard is wanted by Thomas Tuchel as well as Atletico Madrid and Juventus.
France international Pavard, 26, predominantly plays at right-back but his versatility has seen him fill in across the back line for Bayern in recent seasons.

Pavard made 35 appearances for Bayern in all competitions last season and has been playing for the German giants since 2019, when he joined from Stuttgart in a £30m deal.
For Chelsea, defensive reinforcements are crucial this summer after losing Andreas Christensen to Barcelona and Antonio Rudiger to Real Madrid, both on free transfers.
Barcelona also hold an interest in Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso – it is not beyond the realms of possibility that there are more outgoings at Stamford Bridge before the window shuts.

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel needs defensive reinforcements in the summer transfer window
With the backing of new owner Todd Boehly, Tuchel is expected to have cash to spend this summer and Raheem Sterling at Manchester City is a key target.
But Pavard would be an astute addition to the defensive ranks. He has 45 caps for France and was part of their World Cup winning squad in 2018.
He has also won three Bundesliga titles with Bayern and the Champions League in 2020.
