Chelsea-bound Mauricio Pochettino ‘is keeping tabs on TWO Brentford stars’ who helped sweep aside the Blues in their 2-0 defeat – as Todd Boehly’s top managerial target ‘plots a summer rebuild’
- Wholesale changes are expected at Stamford Bridge in the transfer window
- Chelsea need to offload some of their 33 senior players but are still eyeing more
- The West Londoners would love to pinch two starters from neighbours Brentford
Chelsea are preparing for yet another busy summer in the transfer market and have identified two starters from neighbouring Brentford as targets to go after in the coming months.
Todd Boehly was in attendance at Stamford Bridge as his club extended their winless run to eight games across all competitions in the 2-0 loss against the Bees on Wednesday night.
The Clearlake Capital founder would have been in prime position to watch a number of Brentford players as they helped brush Chelsea aside in convincing fashion.
The Blues are still yet to pick up a win in any competition since the return of Frank Lampard at the beginning of April and supporters are growing impatient for the appointment of a permanent manager in the summer.
That man is likely to be former Tottenham, Southampton and Paris Saint-Germain boss Mauricio Pochettino according to reports, who has been keeping tabs on two Brentford players as he plots for yet another Chelsea rebuild.

According to reports, Chelsea could turn to Brentford’s David Raya and Ivan Toney as they plot their targets ahead of the summer transfer window.
Chelsea are in need of goalkeeping replacements with both Kepa Arizzabalaga and Edouard Mendy expected to be moved on in the coming months.
Raya has drawn widespread praise since gaining promotion to the top flight and has kept 10 clean sheets in 33 Premier League starts this season.
As a result of his strong performances, Raya has other admirers and has been linked with Manchester United and Tottenham as well as having suitors at the top of LaLiga as well.
Toney is also on Chelsea’s radar as the club look to address their striking issue in the summer months.
The recent England debutant has registered 31 goals 66 outings in the Premier League since Brentford’s promotion at the end of 2020-21 and has proven himself as one of the coolest penalty takers in the division.
Chelsea may need to clear out some of their current options in the division before making a move to sign Toney, or any other striker, as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Romelu Lukaku are both still on the books and picking up hefty wage packets.
