Chelsea have rolled out the red carpet in their attempts to sign Brazilian teenage sensation Endrick, after hosting his family at the club’s training ground.

The 16-year-old Palmeiras striker is one of the world’s most sought-after stars, and has the Blues, PSG and Real Madrid all looking to secure a deal ahead of his 18th birthday.

The Blues are confident they are leading the race for his signature, after giving the teenager’s family a tour of their Cobham training ground, where they spent time with the club’s Brazilian legend Thiago Silva.

Silva is seen as an hero in his home country, and is set to add to his 109 caps at the World Cup later this month.

The left-footed Endrick is Palmeiras’ youngest ever player, having made his debut at the age of 16 years and 16 days, and has already scored three goals for the club in Brazil’s top tier.

It is believed Endrick’s father, Douglas, has been in discussions with clubs in Europe for the talented teen, who has scored 165 goals in 169 games for the Palmeiras’ academy team.

A significant financial package will be required to sign the young star, but his parents are also keen to clarify a pathway and environment for this son to flourish under.

Endrick is being advised by the same sports agency that also represents fellow Brazilian Vinicius Jr, who moved from Flamengo to Real Madrid in 2018.

Any move for the teenage star can be confirmed in early 2023, and the striker would be eligible to move after his 18th birthday the following year.

Chelsea have been forming a new recruitment team under new owner Todd Boehly and have appointed Joe Shield as director, while Christopher Vivell and Paul Winstanley are expected to join him.
