Chelsea are preparing a bid for Roma’s £65million-rated goalkeeper Alisson as they anticipate losing Thibaut Courtois to Real Madrid.
Brazil’s number one Alisson has been a target for Liverpool and Real Madrid with the latter making an opening offer but being deterred by Roma’s asking price.
Madrid are ready to focus attention back on Chelsea’s Courtois who has one year left on contract and has made no secret of preferring to move back to Spain to be closer to his young family.

Talking to Belgian media, Courtois confirmed: ‘I have a certain preference, I already have ideas in my head, but I have moved everything until after the World Cup.
‘My children are the most important thing for me: I now have one and a half years less contact with Chelsea, FaceTime is beautiful, but seeing them grow up is something else, so my children will play an important role in my decision.’
The British record fee for a goalkeeper is the £34.7m Manchester City paid Benfica for Ederson but Chelsea will still want close to £50m for Courtois.

Chelsea had made enquiries for Stoke’s Jack Butland but now believe they have a realistic chance of landing Alisson ahead of any late bid from Liverpool who, like Madrid, believe Roma’s valuation is excessive.
However, one sticking point could be that Alisson had set his heart on a move to Spain after Madrid’s initial offer.
Butland is due to hold talks about his future this week.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are pushing ahead with a proposed £22million deal for Aleksandr Golovin and want Christian Pulisic from Borussia Dortmund plus Daniele Rugani of Juventus.
They have also turned down £50m from Barcelona for Willian but expect Manchester United to enter the bidding.
Midfielder Lewis Baker has joined Leeds United on a season loan.
Monaco have expressed interest in signing Chelsea’s highly-rated teenager Callum Hudson-Odoi.
The 17-year-old forward is regarded as one of the best talents to come through Chelsea’s academy but has yet to agree a new contract.
Monaco are already hopeful of signing Chelsea’s England U17 international defender Jonathan Panzo.
