Cheryl gushes over launch of her Newcastle youth centre

She set up her own charity, Cheryl’s Trust, in 2015, which supports vulnerable young people living in the North East.

And Cheryl couldn’t hide her pride as she shared a plaque of a new art centre her foundation is helping to launch in her hometown of Newcastle.

The popstar, 34, gushed that her heart was ‘full of pride, love and hope’ as she reflected on the youth centre – which she has raised £2million for to help build.

Exciting news: Cheryl couldn’t hide her pride as she shared a plaque of a new art centre her charity Cheryl’s Trust is helping to launch in her hometown of Newcastle

Cheryl seemed ecstatic as she posted an Instagram snap of the sign in the city centre, which reads ‘Cheryls’ Trust Centre’ and is in partnership with The Prince’s Trust.

‘It’s up, my sign is finally up,’ she wrote. ‘This picture made my heart race so fast! I can not believe it. Seeing this makes it all seem like my dream is finally real.

‘I wanted to say thank you from the bottom of my heart to every single person that has helped me reach this milestone.

‘Without all the support and help along the way I would never have been able to get here. My heart is so full of pride, love and hope.’

She showcased her baby bump in a campaign shot for The Prince’s Trust and L’Oreal Paris’ collaboration, entitled All Worth It, to help raise the confidence of 10,000 young people across the UK who are struggling with self-doubt.

Cheryl said at the time: ‘As a long-standing supporter of The Prince’s Trust and spokesperson for L’Oreal Paris I am so happy to support this partnership.

‘Young people are currently facing more and more problems with self-confidence and we have to address these issues as a real priority.

‘My hope is that this partnership will help young people feel accepted and valued for who they are and make sure that they get the support they need to make the most out of life.’

Meanwhile, speaking about her trust at its launch, she explained: ‘My life could have turned out very differently… I know how lucky I am.

‘That’s why I am raising money to open the new Centre in Newcastle. I want to give back and help young people who feel like they’ll never achieve anything reach their dreams and live a happy life.’

Meanwhile, her boyfriend Liam Payne praised her mother Joan Callaghan and insisted she ‘works too hard’, as he shared a slew of behind-the-scenes photos to his Instagram story on Saturday.

The former One Direction star is gearing up for his performance on the first X Factor live show and making it a family affair, he appeared to be surrounded by his parents and Joan in the hours before he takes to the stage.

Liam treated fans to a glimpse of what family life is like for him away from the spotlight, and while being scolded by his father for forgetting to mention his new track Bedroom Floor in a recent radio appearance, he was also seen complimenting Joan while she cleaned the kitchen.

Cheryl’s mum, who moved into the home Liam shares with the Fight For This Love singer following the birth of their son Bear, could be seen washing down the work surfaces.

Her domesticated skills prompted Liam to gush to his Instagram followers: ‘Joan’s working hard away. Joan, you work too hard.’

Although, it seems Joan wasn’t keen on the attention as she quickly hid behind the kitchen island, prompting Liam to add: ‘She’s hiding,’ along with the hashtag: ‘#wheresjoan’.

Liam’s social media post comes after he recently revealed he and Cheryl were haunted by a ghost while they were living in Los Angeles together. The former Girls Aloud star had been pregnant at the time.

He explained that the California property was haunted and that the couple began to feel a presence in the house, with lights flickering on and off in the middle night, after the housekeeper had informed Cheryl’s mum Joan that the pad had a ghost inside.
