Chic Keira turns into a racy lady wearing a dazzling vintage-style Chanel dress

Keira Knightly dazzles in this vintage Chanel dress on the Hollywood red carpet

It was a night when it was crucial for Keira Knightley to flaunt a little French chic – so what better way to do it than in a dazzling vintage-style Chanel dress?

Keira was strutting the red carpet at a Beverly Hills screening of her new film, Colette, in which she recreates the torrid life of the celebrated French novelist.

Keira’s dress evoked the lost glamour of the Roaring Twenties, combining oodles of lace and ostrich feathers, which she teamed with silver strappy sandals and bling earrings.

And just for good measure, she posed with a seductive pout, painted in bright red lipstick.

Keira’s vintage look was a fitting gesture to her role as the Gigi author, who was at her creative peak in the 1920s.

Keira says of Colette, released on Friday: ‘It is talking about feminism, it’s talking about gender politics, it’s talking about sexual politics and it’s talking about a celebrity couple, so these are things that are very relevant to today.’

Keira, 33, has been the face of the Chanel fragrance since 2007, for which she is said to earn a six-figure sum. Nice work if you can get it…

Ramsay’s crumb of comfort

You’ve got to feel for Gordon Ramsay’s four children. Not only does their dad refuse to let them enjoy the luxury of flying first-class when they jet off on holiday around the world – but he won’t even let them eat at his best fine-dining restaurants.

The celebrity chef said he only made an exception when one of his daughters celebrated her birthday recently and he and his wife Tana agreed to take their clan to his flagship, three-Michelin-starred Restaurant Gordon Ramsay in Chelsea.

The fiery Hell’s Kitchen star, 51, said: ‘I’ve eaten there twice in 20 years. We recently went there for my daughter’s birthday – the kids were never allowed in there before because I didn’t want them spoilt with that level of etiquette. But what an experience.’

Otherwise it’s all round to Gordon’s for beans on toast, then…

She lost £720,000 last year trying to tell us how to eat healthily, but Ella Mills, aka Deliciously Ella, is not deterred – she now wants to tell us how to exercise. Ella, who was forced to close two cafes after running up the losses, is training to become a yoga teacher and begins a 200-hour course later this month.

And to clear up any doubts that her downward dog isn’t up to scratch, she posted a picture on Instagram of herself doing a handstand with the caption: ‘You got to do what you’ve got to do to stay happy, balanced and calm.’

I suspect she’ll soon be telling us how that’s done too…
