A video has captured three children’s delight at discovering a buried treasure chest in their local playground.
The eldest of the three siblings located the hidden booty while scanning the park with his metal detector.
The footage was filmed by the children’s parents and uploaded to YouTube via the channel ‘Our Family Treasure’.

The location of the discovery was not stated, and nor was how the mysterious chest found its way to the park.
‘Our kids found a “REAL” treasure chest at the local playground using a metal detector!’ the account noted.
The children’s parents explained how their eldest son had spent 45 minutes searching the playground before coming across the buried treasure.

Then, as soon as the metal detector went off, alerting him to the hidden loot, his younger brother and sister came rushing over to assist him with the recovery mission.
The children used their hands to dig ferociously beneath the bark chips to discover the small, wooden treasure chest.
In their excitement, they quickly overturned the chest to rummage through the loot inside.

Hidden in the chest were a number of jewels, including a pearl necklace, as well as an old time piece
Among the booty the children found a toy pearl necklace, some beads and a time piece.
‘Their reactions were absolutely priceless,’ the children’s parents said on YouTube.
‘We hope you enjoyed the video as much as we did!’
Already the video has attracted over 22,000 views since it was uploaded on 28 November, with a number of viewers suggesting that they would try to recreate the discovery for their children.
