Chloe Crowhurst reveals she kept her pregnancy private because she ‘had three miscarriages’

Love Island star Chloe Crowhurst has spoken out on why decided to keep her pregnancy private, revealing she had been placed under specialist care after suffering three miscarriages prior.

The television personality, 27, surprised fans when she announced she was expecting her first child – a baby girl – in January, after keeping her relationship off social media.

Speaking on FUBAR Radio on Thursday, Chloe spoke for the first time about boyfriend, photographer David Houghton and her secret miscarriage heartache.

Secret heartache: Chloe Crowhurst has revealed she kept her pregnancy private up until recently because she ‘had three miscarriages’ and was ‘under specialist care at first’

Chloe said: ‘With my pregnancy, I didn’t announce it for quite a long time, just because I’ve had very bad experiences in the past with pregnancies and stuff like that.

‘I’ve had three miscarriages before, so I was under quite specialist care at first. It wasn’t something I wanted to advertise and cause stress upon.’

The reality star stated she’s feeling surprisingly calm about giving birth: ‘I’m not actually worried about it. I don’t know why because I’m not really a chilled person, but since being pregnant I’m very chill.’

Chloe revealed hypnobirthing has helped her a lot on her pregnancy journey.

She said: ‘It was one of those things where I was like do I do it or do I not. I don’t really believe in all of that kind of stuff… but it’s all about just being calm, it’s all about your mindset with hypnobirthing and I do believe that obviously having a positive mindset will be helpful to me.’

The blonde beauty also explained why she keeps her relationship out of the spotlight, after having high profile romances following her stint on the 2017 series of Love Island.

Chloe said: ‘I’ve had relationships on social media in the past and let’s put it this way, it’s not good. What benefit do you get from it? You don’t.’

She added: ‘A previous relationship I had before, I put that on social media. The same day I put it on social media, the messages were flooding through to my boyfriend at the time and there was all these follower requests and stuff and I just think some people don’t have any respect.

‘And people make up stories like “Chloe’s done this, or she’s done that”, and to be honest with you, I’m too old for that drama. I’m so chill, I’m happy, and that’s all that matters.’

Before finding love with David, the television personality had an on-off relationship with former TOWIE star Jon Clarke.

Chloe and Jon had a rocky relationship over the span of a year, with their romance originally ending when Chloe headed into the Love Island villa in June 2017.

What followed was a very public war of words between the former couple, with Jon also clashing with CBB star Calum Best, who he thought had been dating Chloe.

The couple did eventually rekindle their romance, following Jon’s split from TOWIE co-star Lauren Pope, though they split again in November 2017.

The model assured listeners that she and her partner are very ‘happy together, despite also admitting to feeling very unprepared for their baby girl’s imminent arrival.

She said: ‘I’m completely unorganised, I’ve got no idea what’s going on, I’m just going with the flow and just seeing what happens.’

She added: ‘I’ve got this suitcase actually that’s pre-made, it’s all packed for me. But there’s obviously stuff I need to add like clothes. I’ve got a pile upstairs of what I need to pack, I just haven’t done it yet!’

While discussing her plans for after the birth, Chloe also revealed what she intends to do with her placenta: ‘I did actually get a delivery yesterday. It’s from Placenta Plus. I’m turning it into capsules.

‘I was really sceptical about it, but I wrote my birth plan with my midwife a couple of days ago and I asked her about it, and she said people have had really positive experiences.’

When asked if she’s still in contact with her fellow Love Islanders, the ITV2 star admitted that she’s lost touch with most.

Chloe said: ‘I don’t really stay in contact with any of the girls from Love Island. Just because I think after the show you kind of lose contact with people because you realise… you don’t have as much in common with them as you think you do.’

She continued: ‘I speak to a couple of the guys still like Marcel [Somerville], got so much time for Marcel. Obviously he’s got a little boy so I’ll definitely reach out to him a bit more and see what parenthood is all about because quite frankly, I don’t have a clue!’
