Chloe Meadows and her TOWIE co-stars pose for each other in Spain

She recently kicked off shooting scenes for The Only Way Is Essex’s upcoming 22nd season – after it was revealed that seven castmembers had been axed.

And Chloe Meadows appeared to be in her element on Wednesday afternoon, as she took to the golden shores of Barcelona to swimsuit photoshoot as filming on the popular ITVBe show continued.

The 25-year-old beauty wowed as she posed in a retro blue gingham bikini, in which she proudly displayed her sensational curves, as she frolicked by the sea yards from her co-star pals Chloe Lewis, 27, Amber Turner, 24, and Courtney Green, 22.

Complementing her barely-there ensemble with a pair of cat eye sunglasses, blonde beauty Chloe appeared to be having the time of her life as she playfully threw her hands into the air while kneeling on the sand.

All three of the reality stars were seen trying on a variety of swimsuits and bikinis as they struck their best poses while using the breathtaking Spanish city’s coastal scenery as the backdrop.

As well as being models for the day, they also tried their hand at photography, as they were spotted taking snapshots of each other as they relaxed on the beach.

The reality TV stars’ fun-filled shoot comes as Amber hit back at her ex Dan Edgar for ‘lying and stringing her along’, after he struck up a romance with TOWIE newcomer Clelia Theodorou, five months after their relationship ended.

A source close to the blonde beauty told MailOnline: ‘She is very upset as she knows Dan has lied and has strung her along for a long time.

The insider added the reality star had been deeply affected by the dramatic episodes in her personal life, saying: ‘She is strong but very vulnerable but is working on putting herself first.’

This comes as it was alleged she had ‘a huge meltdown’ on set after discovering 27-year-old Dan was seeing new girl Clelia.

Amber dumped her boyfriend of four years, Jamie Reed, to be with Dan in 2016.

But the pair called it quits back in October when the blonde reportedly discovered he had bedded a mystery woman behind her back during a lads’ trip to Ireland.

A number of familiar faces weren’t seen filming since seven regulars, including Amber Dowding and Chris Clark, have been axed.

The pair – who recently moved in together – left the show alongside Mike Hassini, Jack Rigden, Jordan Brook, Maddie Hooper and Ruby Lacey last month, following claims that ‘boring’ characters have been chopped out of the line-up.

The shock shake-up, confirmed by the channel on Thursday, also comes amid a format reshuffle which will see the ITVBe series aired just once a week instead of twice.

A TOWIE spokesperson told MailOnline: ‘There are a number of cast who have mutually agreed their time on the show has come to a natural end for now. We wish them well and look forward to another exciting year ahead for TOWIE.’

Amber and Chris both joined the series in 2016 and rekindled their relationship in April last year, following his short-lived fling with Jesy Nelson of Little Mix fame.

The pair have gone from strength to strength and revealed they had officially moved in together in November.

However, the fact that the pair are no longer involved in any romantic drama is said to be one of the reasons they’ve been axed.

An insider told The Sun: ‘TOWIE is like a revolving door and producers are always on the lookout for new faces that can keep the show fresh.

‘Chris and Amber have left the series as a couple who’ve just moved into an apartment together – and often being in a happy relationship doesn’t work for the show.’

They added that Mike’s stable relationship with girlfriend Zoe Hamilton was also the reason for his axing. He joined the show for a year in 2015 and returned in 2017.

Meanwhile, Jack and Jordan – who joined in 2017 – are said to have been liked by producers, but their scenes were overshadowed by other stars.

It was claimed that Maddie and Ruby – who both joined the show last year – didn’t make the cut as they ‘failed to resonate with viewers.’

The news comes following reports that Jon Clark had come close to getting the axe, after it was claimed that scenes he had filmed for the festive special were cut from the ITVBe show.

When this year’s Only Way Is Essexmas episode aired in December, explosive scenes between Jon and on-off girlfriend Lauren Pope didn’t make it to the final edit.

As part of the episode, the Essex crowd celebrated Christmas by travelling to Suffolk for Arg’s 30th birthday party.

The special episode concluded with James Argent declaring his love for former flame Gemma Collins.

‘Jon filmed with Lauren,’ a source told MailOnline after the episode. ‘However the producers were keen on the Gemma and Arg storyline as it had a happy ending!’

On whether Jon’s future with the show hangs in the balance, the insider continued: ‘Jon is a well loved and valued member of the cast.’

Ahead of the festive special, Jon had cryptically tweeted: ‘Tonight @OnlyWayIsEssex Xmas special not everyone gets what they want for Xmas…’

A permanent castmember since 2016, Jon’s biggest storyline involved long-serving star Lauren.

After a series of explosive rows on-screen, the duo called off their romance in October after he admitted he still had feelings for Love Island ex Chloe Crowhurst.

However, Jon blamed producers for manipulating his relationship for ratings on the ITVBe show.

Jon told The Star: ‘I understand Lauren and my happiness is at the bottom of the list for what the TOWIE team want. They obviously want the drama and tears but I’ve said, so long as we are a team and stick together we will be OK.’

The duo reportedly felt the wrath of producers for having off-screen romances when they claimed to be single.

It was originally reported in November that castmembers – new and old – have forgotten that the premise of the show is reality.

A source alleged that stars of the show have been living lavish lives and off screens, including having secret relationships, and forgetting to tell show bosses about what’s going on in their lives.
