Mr Phippen had taken time from work to assist his wife as she battled the infection.

He said he never felt he deserved to have someone ‘so special’ to share his life with.

‘She was kind, she was beautiful, she was selfless to a fault. she was proud, she was fiery, she was headstrong, she was the best mum, she was the best wife,’ he said.

He said everyone should cherish the people around them while they’re around.

‘Don’t walk away from today without taking stock of those that you love,’ Mr Phippen said.

‘We thought we had another 30-plus years left to see the world, but to us, now was the time to focus on raising Liam and Lily. We kept putting things off.

‘Don’t put things off.

‘Hold your partner tight and enjoy life together.’

He now looks after the pair’s 17-year-old and 10-year-old children.

Mr Phippen’s sister Leah Jenner said her sister-in-law made everyone feel lucky to know her.
