- A plush reindeer soft toy given to children at shopping centres is being recalled
- Toy was given out at Stockland shopping centres in November and December
- About 36,000 of the toys were given out across NSW, QLD, VIC, and WA
A small reindeer plush toy given to children at shopping centres in the lead up to Christmas has been recalled due to choking fears.
The toy was given to 36,000 children who had their photo taken with Santa during November and December at Stockland shopping centres across New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria, and Western Australia.
Parents have been advised to dispose of the toy immediately as the plastic nose on the reindeer may detach and poses a choking hazard.

Stockland Malvern Central in Melbourne, one of the locations the toy was given out, issued a statement about the Luxe Accessories soft toy.
‘We have been advised by the supplier that this product has been certified to an international safety standard, however we have since discovered that in some circumstances, the reindeer’s nose may detach, and small parts can be a choking hazard for infants and young children,’ said AMP Capital, which manages the Malvern centre.
‘As a precaution, we have voluntarily recalled this product and consumers are asked to return the product to the concierge desk or centre management office of Malvern Central.
‘The safety of our customers is our number one priority and we apologise for any inconvenience this recall may cause.’
