Chontel Duncan says her body is all down to housework

Brisbane fitness model Chontel Duncan has taken to Instagram to share the progress of her postpartum body transformation, which she puts down to housework.

Chontel, 28, revealed images of her body four and a half weeks after baby number two and explained that she’s on her third week of an eight-week HIIT transformation program.

‘For now it’s vacuuming, steam moping, [sic] picking up toys, endless trips up and down my stairs, picking up the bebes & [sic] making the bed that will be my cardio,’ she wrote on her Instagram page.

The mother-of-two, who gave birth to son Swayde Noel on September 20, said she has to keep her workouts light, but wanted to to start right away to give herself renewed focus as well as a routine.

‘Currently only able to do the nutrition component, I have been granted permission from my doctor to do light cardio but between juggling a new home, new born, toddler, running a business and my socials it’s proving to be a tad difficult.’

From the beginning of the pregnancy Chontel knew that she wouldn’t be able to do intense cardio straight away after giving birth.

Now that she has included light cardio it won’t be long before she will also be able to include incline walking as well as the cross trainer and StairMaster.

In the fourth week Chontel will begin HIIT classes, including strength and conditioning and Muay Thai.

Since Swayde isn’t yet immunised Chontel has to avoid crowded areas such as the gym until he has had his injections.

In the post she also thanked her husband Sam for designing her a meal plan while also supporting the family.

‘Life is currently so different for us but you always make it work,’ she concluded.

Chontel had previously shared a different full body shot on Instagram to announce that she was starting the eight-week HIIT program, as well as a snap of her svelte physique just a week after giving birth to her second child.

‘I did this after my first pregnancy, but it was months after the birth,’ she wrote on Instagram.

‘I regret not doing it sooner to be honest, because it FORCED me to find a new routine that involved prioritising my new bubba, business life, and my own health.’

Chontel revealed that in the months she wasn’t doing the program, she felt uneasy, unproductive, and neglectful to her health as well as her business.

‘What I realised when I was on the program is that I CAN still feel like me, be a mummy and get s*** done all at the same time,’ she said.

‘This program does more then just change your physical appearance, it changes your life even when your life seems so chaotic.’

Chontel has set her goals for the transformation week, which includes building a ‘stronger frame’ and being content with training less than she did before the baby.

‘I plan to…find a successful morning routine so I’m not eating super late in the day due to fussing over the two bubs like a headless chicken,’ she added.

And Chontel said she soon hopes to ‘feel my old fit self again’.

Although she’s still a few weeks from the gym, Chontel has been regularly flaunting her incredible post-pregnancy body on social media.

A previous full-body selfie was taken in front of a mirror and she shared it to her Instagram with a lengthy caption about how every woman has their own ‘normal’.

‘Now before anyone jumps down my throat saying anything negative, think before you type,’ she wrote on the picture posted last week. ‘Everyone is unique and different in their own special way’.

‘There is no “one” journey or one way, this is my “normal”…I am only one person, so therefore I cannot possibly relate to everyone’s experience.’

‘If your instant response isn’t positive, I challenge you to see beyond your negativity and find the kindness within,’ she added.

Chontel, who also has 18-month-old son Jeremiah with husband Sam Duncan, delivered a bouncing baby boy at a healthy 3.8kg.
