Chris and Rosie Ramsey are to star in a new TV series.

The comedian, 35, and his wife Rosie will feature in the aptly-named ‘Chris & Rosie Ramsey Show’, following the success of their podcast ‘Sh*****. Married. Annoyed’, which has seen over 90 million downloads worldwide.

Speaking about the new show, Chris joked: ‘I’m absolutely thrilled to have a show on the BBC, slightly annoyed that my years and years hard graft and solo work did nothing to achieve me this, but the moment I get my wife involved, it happens. But hey ho, you take what you can get.’

In response, Rosie said: ‘You’re welcome, Chris.’

The series will consist of six 45-minute episodes, which will see the pair joined each week by another celebrity couple to take a satirical look at several aspects of life, including growing up, relationships, arguments, annoyances, parenting.

And in reference to their famous podcast, they will be asking: ‘What’s your beef?

 ‘The Chris and Rosie Ramsey Show’ will be produced by by Avalon, the team behind other hit shows such as ‘Taskmaster’, ‘Starstruck’, ‘Breeders’ and ‘Spitting Image’. 

Kate Phillips, Director of Entertainment at the BBC said: ‘Chris and Rosie are one of the funniest and frankest couples I know. 

‘To have them at the helm of a brand new series packed full of very relatable, relevant issues, especially after so many people were locked down together, will be a great treat for 2022!’

Rosie later took to her Instagram to share the good news, writing: ‘We’re going to be on the telly!!!!! Don’t worry. We’re as shocked as you are let’s be truthful here…

Chris also took to Twitter to post: ‘Thanks for all the lovely comments and messages about the TV show. We really appreciate it. We had no idea this little podcast would go so crazy. Tour, book, TV show. Nuts.

The Chris & Rosie Ramsey Show will launch on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer in 2022.
