Chris Rock suits up as a cop to film Saw remake… after making controversial ‘Betty White’ joke on Instagram about mass shooter

He was out on set filming the new Saw remake movie in Toronto, Canada on Thursday.

This is the first time Chris Rock, 54, has been seen since making a controversial ‘Betty White’ joke on Instagram in reference to a gunman in a mass shooting on Wednesday.

He captioned a snap of the veteran actress: ‘The first thing people say when a mass shooting is announced,’ with the punchline being a pun inspired by her name: ‘Bet he white.’

First time out: Chris Rock was spotted on set filming the new Saw remake movie in Toronto, Canada on Thursday, the day after his contentious Betty White Instagram  

It riled up some fans, who accused the comedian of being ‘racist’ against white people.

Meanwhile, Chris – who has yet to reply to the Betty White comments –  was dressed in costume as Police Detective Zeke.

Saw also co-stars Marisol Nichols, 45, as his boss Captain Angie Garza. Samuel L. Jackson, 70, has joined the as-yet-untitled project as Zeke’s father Marcus.

The storyline of the reboot, due out on FX May 15. is a closely held secret.

But the 2004 original horror film featured two strangers who wake up in a room with no recollection of how they got there and soon discover they’re pawns in a serial killer’s deadly game. 

Meanwhile, FX revealed Jack Huston, Jason Schwartzman and Ben Whishaw are joining Chris for Fargo’s fourth season.

Chris who plays the lead, Loy Cannon, in the TV series.

The fourth season is due to start next year.
