Chrissie Swan to host another season of Would I Lie to You? despite low ratings

Chrissie Swan’s big TV return: Slimmed-down star will host another season of Would I Lie to You? despite low ratings… after filling in for Carrie Bickmore on The Project

Chrissie Swan will return to host another season of Would I Lie to You? despite mixed reviews and low ratings for its first season.

The Channel 10 panel show will follow the same format with two teams trying to hoodwink each other with elaborate tales, while the studio audience and viewers at home try to decipher fact from fiction.

Production on season one of WILTY was impacted by Covid-19, meaning the network was forced to make last-minute changes to the line-up. Ten is hoping season two will see the show live up to its ‘full potential’, reports TV Blackbox.

Filming will commence in October.

The show sees comedians and celebrity guests tell bizarre and far-fetched stories about themselves.

Some are true and some are made up by producers. The aim of the game is to fool the opposing team.

Chrissie, who filled in for Carrie Bickmore on The Project earlier this year, has lost 90kg since the start of Covid lockdowns.

She previously credited her slim-down to daily walks and quitting alcohol.

But she has more recently decided to no longer discuss her weight loss publicly.

‘I think the reason I’m not talking about anything now is because I have done that in the past 20 years,’ she told Stellar magazine in July.

‘I’ve waded into that kind of toxic environment, and it didn’t make me feel good. And it didn’t help me, and it didn’t help anyone else. And it just propagates the interest in a woman’s body, which is irrelevant,’ she added.

Chrissie briefly touched on her weight loss in an interview with The Australian Women’s Weekly earlier this year.

She said the ‘enormous’ lifestyle changes she’d made over the previous 12 months had improved her life in so many ways.

‘I’m not going to talk about the size of my a**e. I’m not going to tell you what I eat in a day. Because I’ve read those stories and they make me feel bad about myself,’ she added.
