Chrissy Teigen and John Legend have expanded their family with the addition of a rescue dog they’ve named Dudley.

It comes two months after the 39-year-old model and 46-year-old music artist announced that their French bulldog Penny passed away.

The pet was introduced in a video shared via a joint Instagram post with their pet lifestyle brand Kismet.

‘In honor of National Puppy Day, meet Dudley – the newest member of our fam!!’ the note began.

It continued, ‘When we first met Dudley, he was fighting for his life. Thirteen days in the hospital, endless love from his foster family, and an incredible recovery later – he’s officially home.’

It went on to say, ‘Nothing can replace the dogs we’ve loved before, but sometimes, the universe sends us the reminder that we need to open our hearts again. Call it kismet.

‘Adoption saves lives, and there are so many more dogs waiting for their second chance. Thank you @wagsandwalks we are in love.’

The montage included footage two of their four children playing with Dudley, an adorable blonde and white pup, with big smiles on their faces.

Teigen and Legend share daughter Luna, nine in April, Miles, six, Esti, two, and Wren, one.

In February Chrissy and John paid tribute to Penny in a Valentine’s Day clip.

The longtime couple performed a duet of the 1960s Nat King Cole song L-O-V-E in various scenes while serenading all of their beloved animals in an Instagram video.

During one moment, John held the urn with Penny’s ashes, while singing to it. In another moment, Chrissy leaned down to give the urn a kiss.

Penny passed away suddenly at the age of 11.

In January, the cookbook author shared the devastating news by posting an heartfelt tribute and several photos of the canine that captured her playful personality.

‘Our beautiful little tripod queen, penny, passed on peacefully in her sleep today,’ she captioned her slideshow. ‘Born the same day John and I got married, 11 years ago, she was there for us for every baby, every loss, every joy.’

Chrissy continued: ‘She loved nothing more than being loved, having her nub rubbed and destroying any ball she could get her paw on, even til her last weeks.’

She went on to gently remind her followers to ‘never forget that while every pup is just a few chapters in your long life, for them you are their entire book, their entire lives.’

‘Oh Penny. We were so beyond lucky to have you. Say hi to Puddy and Pippa for us. You are all together again,’ she concluded.
