Desperate search for missing boy, 11, resumes after freezing night as cops reveal he walked off the school bus but never came home

  • He was reported missing after he failed to return home on Wednesday afternoon

  • Search will continue after temperatures dropped to 4C on Wednesday night

Police have renewed desperate efforts to locate a young boy who went missing after getting off a school bus. 

Christopher Wilson, 11, was last seen walking along Annangrove Road towards Rouse Hill in Sydney’s north-west at 4.45pm on Wednesday.

When he got off the school bus on Annangrove Road at about 3pm, he was wearing a black and white jacket and carrying a large black backpack. 

The 11-year-old was reported missing after he failed to return home.

Police along with SES officers and PolAir conducted an extensive search of the area on Wednesday night, as temperatures dropped to just four degrees.

Police hold concerns for Christopher’s welfare because he has no money or food. 

The search will recommence on 8am on Thursday with local police, Police Rescue Squad, PolAir and SES members to continue scouring the area for clues. 

A geo-text was sent to local residents in the region on Wednesday. 

Police have reassured the community the message was not a scam and pleaded for any information on Christopher’s whereabouts.

He is described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance and about 120 centimetres tall, with a slim build, short brown hair and brown eyes.

Police have said his disappearance is out of character.
