Chuck Norris files $30M lawsuit against CBS and Sony

Chuck Norris filed a $30M breach-of-contract lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court on Tuesday against CBS and Sony Pictures Television for alleged missing profits from his hit nineties TV show Walker, Texas Ranger.

According to Deadline, the Oklahoma-born action star – turning 78 next month – claimed CBS hasn’t paid him his contracted ’23 percent cut’ of streaming video-on-demand revenue for the crime series since 2004.

‘Defendants have rejected, ignored, and failed to consider offers from third parties who were willing to pay a premium license fee for Walker, because Defendants preferred to self-deal by negotiating special licensing deals, with minimal fees, with their own networks,’ the legal documents stated.

‘This has cost [Norris’ production company] Top Kick millions of dollars in past and future license fees.’

Chuck (born Carlos) executive produced, penned six episodes, and starred as Cordell Walker in the cowboy-tinged cop procedural which spanned eight seasons (1993-2001) in 100 countries and later spawned a 2005 TV movie Trial by Fire.

Norris’ legal battle came three months after he sued 11 drug companies for ‘poisoning’ his second wife Gena O’Kelly with gadolinium following three MRI scans she underwent in 2012 to assess her rheumatoid arthritis.

The grandfather-of-13 told Good Health in November: ‘I’ve given up my film career to concentrate on Gena, my whole life right now is about keeping her alive. I believe this issue is so important.’
