Sam Burgess appears to have reconciled with his wife Phoebe following a six-week split.
And a report in New Idea claims actor Russell Crowe may be responsible for bringing the pair back together.
On Monday, the magazine published quotes from a ‘source’ who alleges that the Gladiator star told close friend Sam to ‘pull his head in’ and salvage his three-year-marriage.

Sam, 30, is the most famous player in the South Sydney Rabbitohs – a club partially owned by rugby league loving Russell, 54.
The pair have a had a close relationship for years, with New Idea claiming that Sam considers Russell a ‘father figure’.
A ‘source’ told the magazine that the Oscar winner gave Sam a ‘stern talking to’ after he moved out of the marital home he shared with Phoebe and their two children in December last year.

‘When Russell heard that Sam and Phoebe had left Phoebe and the kids, he was not only heartbroken but disappointed that Sam didn’t fight harder for for his family’.
Like Sam, the A Beautiful Mind actor has two children, but wasn’t able to make his own marriage work, having split from his long-time wife Danielle Spencer in 2012.
‘Russell basically told Sam to pull his head in and expressed the importance of being a present dad,’ the source told New Idea.

Meanwhile, the Sydney Morning Herald last week claimed that Sam is officially moving back into his $3.8million marital home in Maroubra, Sydney.
He moved out just before Christmas, leaving Phoebe at the address with their two-year-old daughter Poppy and baby son, Billy.
At the time, it was widely reported that the couple’s marriage split was ‘messy’.
Phoebe and Sam first met at an Avicii concert in Sydney in January 2014.
They tied the knot in a lavish ceremony in the Southern Highlands town of Bowral in December 2015.
