Claims that Cassandra Thorburn DID brand her ex-husband Karl Stefanovic a ‘narcissist’ and ‘fake’

‘Irrefutable evidence’: Claims that Cassandra Thorburn DID brand her ex-husband Karl Stefanovic a ‘narcissist’ and ‘fake’ during ‘airport tirade’

Cassandra Thorburn reportedly had a ‘tirade’ about her ex-husband Karl Stefanovic, branding him a ‘narcissist’ and ‘fake’.

The 47-year-old refused to confirm or deny that she’d made the comments to a reporter for New Idea at Sydney Airport on Sunday.

However a new report published by Sydney Confidential on Wednesday has claimed to have ‘irrefutable evidence’ that the 47-year-old did make the comments.

‘Sydney Confidential has verified, irrefutably, that she did make the remarks at Sydney Airport’ the article claims.

It goes on: ‘In addition to the irrefutable evidence, a source close to the journalist who did the interview, Jonathan Marshall, said that he sat with Cassandra in a coffee shop inside Sydney Airport where she made the claims.’

On Monday, New Idea claimed that the mother-of-three supposedly criticised Karl’s wedding to Jasmine Yarbrough, which took place in Mexico on Saturday, while jetting into Sydney Airport on Sunday following a trip to Melbourne.

‘He’s thrown three weddings for goodness sake. Who needs three weddings in a year? Give us a break,’ Cassandra was quoted as telling a reporter.

‘Three weddings and a funeral. We had a funeral and it was my dad’s.’

Cassandra’s funeral reference concerned the death of her father, journalist Max Thorburn, who lost his battle with cancer in October.

The former ABC journalist previously denied to Daily Mail Australia that any ‘interview or rant’ took place at the airport.

Also on Monday, she told The Sydney Morning Herald – which is owned by Karl’s employers Nine – that she is anything but bitter.

‘I am leading a very happy life,’ Cassandra told the publication.

However, the paper also claimed that ‘Thorburn wouldn’t say whether New Idea [which first reported the story] made up the quotes altogether’.

Daily Mail Australia has reached out to Cassandra Thorburn for further comment and clarification.
