A child has been killed and five others injured in a gunfight on a Cleveland street.
The children, all of whom were aged 12 to 16, were in two separate groups when the shots began at 7.30pm on Friday night. All are boys.
It is not clear what prompted the fight. Police say they do not believe the youths belonged to gangs but that they merely ‘crossed paths’.
The age of the boy who died has not been released.
The other five were taken to hospital.

Police Chief Calvin Williams has sent his condolences to the family of the dead child, who hasn’t been publicly identified.
The wounded children have been hospitalized.
Williams says police are investigating and are appealing for the public’s help in finding out who did the shooting.
‘Kids crossed paths and shots were fired.
‘We don’t exactly what spurred this or what happened, but definitely, our hearts go out to the families of the victims here,’ he said.
