Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence are hitting pause on their decades long rivalry in new images from season four of Cobra Kai.

The official social media accounts for the Netflix comedy released a series of new photos from the upcoming season revealing are ‘new alliances, new students, and new conflicts’, on Tuesday.

Daniel and Johnny are joining their formerly competitive dojos, Miyagi-do and Eagle Fang, in order to take down Cobra Kai which was usurped by villain John Kreese last season.

‘With new alliances, new students, and new conflicts, the All-Valley is anyone’s game,’ Cobra Kai tweeted out.

Johnny (William Zabka) is pictured in one scene holding out his hand to Daniel (Ralph Macchio), presumably to form their alliance.

Daniel even attempts to teach Johnny his famous crane kick – the move that beat Lawrence back at the All-Valley championships back in the Karate Kid.

The two are seen standing outside barefoot on a mat. Johnny has both arms and one leg raised in the iconic post while Daniel stands poised for impact wearing a facemask and pads.

Not only are the leaders of the formerly dueling dojos on good terms, photos show the students of Miyagi-do and Eagle Fang together and not fighting, for once.

The now aligned groups will go up against the students of Cobra Kai (the former dojo for most of them) in the All-Valley championships.

A new student – who looks like he’s being teased while walking down the hallway – will join the teens at their Southern California high school. He will, no doubt, end up in one of the three rival dojos.

Netflix previously announced a December 31 release date for the Karate Kid spin-off and dropped a trailer for the series last month.

‘We bite first!’ Johnny says in the trailer of his plan to defeat the Cobra Kai dojo and sensei John Kreese. Martin Kove plays the maniacal teacher.

Kreese is also seen in the trailer, at work teaching his students how to attack without mercy in preparation for the All-Valley Karate tournament.  However, as Kreese says in the clip, ‘They’re not the only ones teaming up.’

'If you had told me a year ago that our family's safety depending on winning a karate tournament, I would've thought you were joking,' Amanda LaRusso said in a previously released season four trailer. 'But here we are. Living in the Twilight Zone.'

Terry Silver, a ruthless martial arts master last seen in Karate Kid III, returns to the franchise and will help his friend attempt to defeat the new alliance between LaRusso and Lawrence. Thomas Ian Griffith will reprise the role that he originated in the early film.

Silver takes a few seconds of the trailer to rain down a series of vicious punches on a punching bag.

Meanwhile, the two dojos’ students are hard at work prepping for the fight of their lives.

LaRusso’s daughter, Samantha, and Lawrence’s best pupil, Miguel, are shown training on their side while Lawrence’s son Robby, played by He’s All That star Tanner Buchanan, trains under Kreese.

LaRusso’s wife, Amanda, ends the trailer by noting how strange the situation they find themselves in is.

‘If you had told me a year ago that our family’s safety depending on winning a karate tournament, I would’ve thought you were joking,’ the character, played by Courtney Henggeler said. ‘But here we are. Living in the Twilight Zone.’

With the return of Thomas Ian Griffith, fans will have to wait and see if any more of their favorite characters return to the series.

Last season saw Elisabeth Shue return to her role of Ali Mills from the original film. Yuji Okumoto and Tamlyn Tomita reprised their roles as Chozen and Kumiko, respectively from the second Karate Kid movie.

The show has already been renewed for a fifth season after its next outing, so if fan favorites don’t show up this season, they still have time to.
