College frat suspended for the second time in less than a year after ‘rape at party by two men’

Police in Florida have arrested two men for allegedly gang-raping a woman this past Friday night, leading to the suspension of a college fraternity for the second time in less than a year.

The alleged rape took place near the University of Central Florida in Orlando.

Orange County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested David Anthony Kirk, 20, and Jack Ryan Smith, 26.

They have been charged with sexual battery, according to the Orlando Sentinel.

Smith is a sophomore pre-business major.

The alleged victim told investigators that she went to a party at a home that is used by members of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity.

She says she drank vodka and flavored water on the way to the party.

According to the arrest report, she continued drinking at the party. She had green apple-flavored shaved ice with vodka.

During the party, she spent most of her time with Kirk and Smith in the backyard, according to authorities.

At one point, she began to stumble and slur her words. Soon, she blacked out, according to authorities.

Last August, Alexander Garces, 22 (above), and Antonio Candido, 22, were charged with sexual battery and false imprisonment for allegedly raping a woman at their fraternity party

Deputies said she only remembered ‘snapshots’ of the night.

The woman told deputies that she then remembers waking up naked in a bedroom on her stomach in a queen-sized bed.

While Smith was raping her, Kirk was forcing her to perform oral sex on him, according to the arrest report.

The woman told deputies she was numb, in shock, and in tears. She said she heard the two men say ‘my turn, my turn’ before switching positions.

The arrest report did not say if the woman was a student.

The woman said that after the alleged rape, she sat on the bathroom floor across the hall and texted her friends for help.

She then met them and went home.

The next day, she went to Florida Hospital East Orlando.

The fraternity was placed on interim suspension on Tuesday.

This is the second time in less than a year – and the fourth time in the last five years – that ATO has been temporarily suspended.

In August, two men – Alexander Garces and Antonio Candido, both 22 – were charged with sexual battery and false imprisonment.

A woman accused the two men of raping her at a ‘New Years in July party’ at the on-campus home.

The charges against the two men were dropped a few months later.

The national organization of ATO released a statement on Tuesday saying it ‘supports the woman alleging sexual assault.’

The fraternity says that the party where the alleged rape took place was not an official event.

‘The party was not planned or coordinated by the chapter, was not sponsored by the chapter, was not sanctioned or promoted by the chapter,’ the statement read.

‘This was not an ATO event.’

Kirk was expelled from the UCF chapter of the ATO, though no reason was given as to why.

It is not known if Smith is a member.
