Colorado driver spits and hits police officer after being ticketed for leaving dogs in hot car

Shocking video footage reveals the moment a Colorado man spits on an officer and hits her with his car, after he received a ticket for leaving his dogs unattended in a hot car.

Clint Martinez II, 21, led his angry outburst on July 21 after Boulder Police responded to a report of dogs found panting inside a hot Pontiac coupe car without water.

Officers found Martinez at a nearby restaurant and talked to him about caring for the dogs, giving him a warning on the condition that he would drive the dogs home, officials said.

Instead of taking the pups home, Martinez went right back into the restaurant claiming he had to pay his check inside.

But he disappeared for more than half an hour and when officers spotted him again he was carrying an ice cream cone after leaving the building through a different exit.

Catching him with his snack, the officers wrote Martinez a ticket for improper care of animals.

But Martinez didn’t take the write off well and aggressively slammed his car to drive away from the scene, rolling down his window to spit at an officer.

As he reversed the car, an officer tried to open Martinez’s door, causing the door to fly open and hit a female cop, according to the Daily Camera.

He drove away at high speed, nearly hitting a passing bicyclist as he stormed off.

Following the blow, an officer was taken to a hospital where they were treated and later released for non life-threatening injuries.

His rampage was caught on an officer’s body camera and Martinez was arrested on Wednesday following the incident.

He has been charged with two counts of felony assault on an officer and misdemeanor counts of assault, obstructing an officer and resisting arrest following his stint that was caught on camera.
