COMBIGAN: ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW

Combigan is an eye drop that belongs to the class of drugs called Antiglaucoma, Combos. Combigan eye drops are used to treat glaucoma or ocular hypertension i.e., high pressure inside the eye. It contains a combination of brimonidine and timolol. Brimonidine works by reducing the amount of fluid in the eye and thus reducing the pressure in the eye. On the other hand, Timolol is a beta-blocker that also reduces pressure in the eye. Combigan can also be used for other purposes that are not mentioned here.

How to use:

Use Combigan as directed by your doctor. You should follow the directions on the prescription label. You should not use a higher or lower amount of medicine than recommended by your doctor. Wash your hands before using this eye drop. If you wear contact lenses, then remove them before putting the Combigan eye drops into your eyes. Wear your contact lenses 15 to 20 minutes after using the eye drop. For putting the eye drops into your eyes, you have to tilt your head back a little bit and then create a little pocket in your eye by pulling the lower eyelid downwards. Before using any other eye-drop prescribed by your doctor, wait for at least 10-15 minutes. You should never touch the mouth of the eye dropper with your hands as it can lead to contamination and eventually eye infection. Also, do not place the dropper inside your eyes. If you face any kind of infection after using the drops, call your doctor and take his advice. If in case you have missed a dose, then take it as soon as you remember it. Do not take the dose if it is almost time for the next dose. Also do not put more drops in your eyes to compensate for the missed dose. In case if you have used more drops than recommended, you should clean your eye with clean water.

In case anyone has swallowed the drops, contact emergency services to do avoid any risks. You should not use this medicine if you need to do something that requires you to be alert, for example driving. This is because this medicine impairs your capacity to think or take action immediately. The most important thing is that, do not take this medicine without the prescription of your doctor.

Side-Effects of Combigan:

Some of the common side-effects of Combigan are itchy or red-eye, tiredness, irritation, or stinging in the eye, drowsiness, etc. Some more serious side-effects of Combigan may be watering of the eye, pain in the eye, severe swelling or redness of the eye, slowing of heart-rate, feeling of passing out, swelling, and numbness of hands and toes. Precautions:
