Comedian Nazeem Hussain is the ‘Indian Bachelor’ in hilarious sketch

As the countdown to The Bachelor finale begins, it appears Nick Cummins may have competition from Australian comedian Nazeem Hussain.

In a preview for his upcoming sketch comedy show, the 32-year-old funnyman plays the suitor in a fictional dating program called The Indian Bachelor.

However, the format is a little different from Australia’s Bachelor as the female contestants must instead impress Nazeem’s overbearing mother.

Meet the Indian Bachelor! Comedian Nazeem Hussain has appeared in a hilarious ‘trailer’ for a dating show where women have to impress the suitor’s overbearing mother

The ‘trailer’ featured remarkably similar set design and lighting to The Bachelor, except all the participants were dressed in traditional Indian clothing.

The voice over announced: ‘One man, 12 women, all vying for the affection of… his mother. Welcome to The Indian Bachelor!’

While Nazeem joked on Instagram that he was the ‘next Bachelor’, the teaser was simply one of the sketches from his new show, Orange is The New Brown.

‘This was a really fun show to make,’ Nazeem said of the show, which will air on Channel Seven later this year.

‘I got to see things I thought I’d never see: Kat Stewart dating a 95-year-old man, Tim Minchin arguing with Kamahl and Sigrid Thornton getting frisky with a skeleton.

‘But to be honest I’m just using this show as a stepping stone to Home and Away! Any role will do. I’d even settle for the Uber Eats driver at the diner.’
