Comedian Wil Anderson TURNED DOWN the opportunity to replace Kyle and Jackie O on 2Day FM

He recently landed himself in hot water after branding his Triple M Breakfast Show ‘a f**king mess!’

Now Wil Anderson has sensationally revealed he was asked to replace Kyle and Jackie O right after they ditched 2Day FM to relocate to KIIS FM n 2014.

But the comedian immediately turned the golden opportunity down.

‘I knew it was going to be a disaster!’ Wil Anderson has sensationally revealed he was asked to replace Kyle and Jackie O right after they ditched 2Day FM to relocate to KIIS FM

‘I remember it specifically because I was hosting an event for Facebook in Sydney,’ the comedian told news.com.au.

‘Around 8.30am Kyle announces on air that they’re leaving the network and it’s all over Twitter, and my manager, Kevin, has called me.

Anderson continued: ‘I jokingly say to him on the call, ‘you’re not ringing to offer me Kyle and Jackie O’s job are you?’

‘And he goes, “well look, it’s funny you should say that”‘ Wil continued.

Ever since Kyle and Jackie O vacated 2Day FM, the radio network has struggled to find a successful replacement team for its breakfast slot.

Following their shock departure, the pair were first replaced by Jules Lund, Sophie Monk, Merrick Watts and Mel B.

But despite the ambitious line-up, the new shake-up failed to attract viewers who had migrated with Kyle and Jackie O to KIIS FM.

The group were then replaced by Rove McManus and Sam Frost, who barely lasted 12 months in the role.

In early 2017, Em Rusciano and Harley Breen debuted in the 2DAY FM breakfast slot, before Harley departed at the end of last year.

Em now hosts the slot with Grant Denyer and Ed Kavalee but the program still lags in the ratings.

And speculation is growing that Em may soon be replaced, following claims staff reportedly ‘quit the network’ due to her ‘diva’ behaviour.
